Reiki Symbol Course 1:4 – Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen means “the god in me honors the god in you” – similar to the often shared “namaste” in the spiritual community, it’s a lovely salutation. It symbolizes our inner divinity and how we mutually respect each other. It is used in remote healing and is a Shingon Chant to burn away karma. The symbol, when drawn, shows us how to manifest our intentions. “I center myself in the four elements. I surrender into trusting the Divine to care for me and protect me. I yield my body, mind and heart into the process. I send energy into open receptive spaces and allow parts of me and others to be reborn in love.”

Reiki Symbol Course 1:3 – Cho Ku Rei

This symbol means “put the power here”. It empowers us as individuals and gives us the right to live our life as we choose and grants the same right to others. It ends all power struggle. “I let you live your own way and I let myself live my way. We can meet in unforced agreements or simply go in different directions. I accept both these possibilities and will not try to force you to live my way. At the same time, I will not let myself be forced into roles required by others. I will the truth of my own heart.”

Reiki Symbol Course 1:2 – Zee Gah Nah

So much human experience is stored and circulated through the throat chakra. All of our expression – our joys, angers, pains, laughters, anguishes, prayers, abominations – occurs through the throat chakra. This includes all of our listenings, for our ability and experience of listening is simply a reflection of our own abilities and experiences of being able to express ourselves. To know something is to experience it. “I release all old energy from my body, mind, and heart. I make space for new creative self expression.”
